| DESIGN NAME: Essence PRIMARY FUNCTION: Ceiling Fan INSPIRATION: Oftentimes, in air-conditioned spaces like worship facilities, offices, schools and restaurants, comfort is rarely easy—or inexpensive—to achieve. Often installed in these commercial settings with tall ceilings and open floor plans were conventional, residentially-sized ceiling fans incapable of significant air movement. Our engineers sought to develop a ceiling fan for air-conditioned spaces that, while lightweight, stylish and silent, provided effective air movement. They replaced the traditional, geared motor with a maintenance-free, permanent magnet drive, eliminating noise and potential oil leaks; then they added an electronic control to further reduce noise. The result was Essence—both an essential money-saving machine and a work of art. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Essence is both an essential money-saving machine and a work of art. Ranging from 8 to 14 feet (2.4 to 4.3 meters) in diameter, Essence was developed to excel both indoors and out. With its high-efficiency, direct drive motor, Essence provides the air movement needed in large spaces like lobbies, pavilions and music venues to seaside dining and open-air theatres. A single Essence does the work of more than 28 standard 52-inch (1.3 meters) ceiling fans at just one-seventh of the operating costs. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Essence’s onboard electronic microprocessors offer design flexibility and multiple control options. Lightweight and easy to install, Essence comes with a 10-year warranty with factory installation, ensuring smooth, silent airflow year-round. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Unlike boisterous, industrial-fan gearboxes, Essence’s motor, with its potent permanent magnets and sensorless electronic controls, is fit for sound-sensitive environments like churches; the motor also features multiple microprocessors, offering design flexibility and enabling you to make Essence the mighty air mover you’ll never hear but always feel with a wireless remote, automation system or wall-mounted dial. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Essence ranges from 8 to 14 feet (2.4 to 4.3 meters) in diameter. Depending on the diameter of the fan, Essence weighs between 75 and 96 pounds (34 to 44 kilograms). Essence is suitable for ceilings as low as 12 feet.
