| DESIGN NAME: Natural Charm SPA PRIMARY FUNCTION: Clubhouse SPA INSPIRATION: Given the small design space, the designer uses a lot of arc lines, which not only expands the space, but also makes the overall atmosphere livelier, with full of aura. The design combines with local cultural elements of Xiang Lake and Chinese elements.The designer intends to deliver to the guests a feeling of tranquility and liveliness. The designer wishes to be expressive in a subtle way in this design project and create inclusive harmony among distinctive features and styles. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Such rich design elements as of Southeast Asia and modern Chinese style, have been integrated into design for Bin Sheng Lake No.1 Clubhouse SPA. It will reflect natural flavor and gloss with simple but elegant, fresh and warm atmosphere whether in color application and material selection, or in art consultancy, in conclusion, it will be a high-end health leisure SPA. The curved lines on the entrance will fill the whole space, which gives an artistic conception of water. The placement of several clusters of green plants, will be behind a large scale hollow oak screen, giving a strong natural charm. A piece of art hanging scroll will present somewhat tranquil atmosphere under foil of arc oak ceiling. In the reception area, what we will have first seen is the wavy stone wall, curved multi-person sofa, reception desk and doughnut-shaped coloprhony onyx platform, with spatial layout as changing as water and giving off cool feeling, while the elliptical crystal chandelier preserves styles of other functional areas of clubhouse. The simple dark brown coffee table and elegant sofa cushion, will reflect a modern Chinese style. In the treatment room, it will have wood color as a dominant one, accompanied by such deep tones as blue and red, which will show solemn and elegant atmosphere for successful people. Teak material for walls and ceilings, dark satin and Chinese-style art frame with mother-of-pearl on it, will not only reflect mystery and relaxation of southeast Asia SPA, also have modern Chinese style artistic conception integrated into it, with perfect integration. The simple abstract hanging scroll, adding several soft flavor, will make customers feel another different regional culture while enjoying the cool and refreshing SPA. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The designer adopted high criteria for every single detail. To best collaborate the client and the management company, there was close monitoring of the construction site real-time to make sure the project was on the right track. With respect to the choice of features and materials for the design and furnishings, the designer took into account of being sustainable and environmentally-frie PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project was initiated in October 2011 and completed in April 2012 in Xiang Lake, Hangzhou. Though with tight schedule for concept brewing, layout planning to artifacts display, the designer’s passion for design and touching the heart of the guests in the spa enabled the successful conclusion of the project within a short lead time. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The SPA design is aimed at boasting local cultural characteristics with contemporary touch. The design concept reveals original Southeast Asian style mingling with modern Chinese tone. For example, the curved lines on the entrance will fill the whole space, which gives an artistic conception of water. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The Natural Charm SPA is located on the basement level I of the Bin Sheng Lake No.1 Clubhouse, Hangzhou. With an area space of 230 sq.m., It consists of a multifunctional hair salon, two double SPA rooms and one single SPA room. Each SPA room will be equipped with private facilities with a view to facilitate customers to fully enjoy private leisure space. Where, the double SPA room will be also equipped with a private bathtub.
