| DESIGN NAME: Nouveau PRIMARY FUNCTION: Toilet bowl INSPIRATION: Many people try to place flower in the restroom in order to improve their atmosphere. However, many failed to keep the flower alive due to lack of fresh water. I have asked a question myself, "How the flower could get fresh water constantly in order to keep being fresh?" UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This is a new level of toilet bowl that carries new innovation, higher marketability, and better functionality. Moreover, it is an environment friendly product. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The flower will have fresh water in every time the user push the flush button. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in April 2009 in Champaign and finished in August 2010 in the same location. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The manufacture method will be slip casting. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: In overall, depth is 661mm, width 338mm and height is 811 mm. TAGS: toilet bowl, auto feeding, flowers, save water, innovation RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The innovation is the essence of the nouveau, a new toilet bowl. Because of the innovation in the toilet bowl, it has accomplished much higher aesthetic and better functionality. Speaking of functionality, the toilet bowl can feel water to flowers or different types of plantation before flushing the water away. It means that water is being used both flower and flushing. Since the usage of water is expanded, it is a true environmental friendly product. It does not have to have high technologies so that it can be easily manufactured with the current technologies. It will lead to higher marketability. CHALLENGE: Incorporating to flower vase concept to toilet bowl was the hardest process.
