PRIMARY FUNCTION: Stemware
INSPIRATION: the nature has inspired me to define the final shape. Although there are few products that hold stemware and food plate they are not appropriate to be used in formal events. Therefore, stemwares that have both elegant and practicality need to be developed
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This stemware is elegant enough to be a formal event and practical enough to engage delight conversation in the event while one hand holding a liqour ware and food plate.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The stemware is very simple to use yet elegant. the saucer can be used a small food plate. Therefore, one hand is always unoccupied for a formal introduction.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in April 2013 in champaign Illinois USA and finished in January 2014 in the same location.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The 24 percent lead oxide content makes crystal different from ordinary glass. In mass production, it is composed by a Press machine, producing the Stems, and by a Blowing machine, to blow the Bowls on the Stems themselves, obtaining the finished Stemware.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: when people go to a cocktail party or a formal event, people tend to grab a glass of beverage and a small food plate. Because people use their both hands for holding a plate and a stemware, they often miss a formal introduction when they meet new people and occur an awkward moment .
CHALLENGE: the challenge was to design a stemware that has both elegant aesthetic and practicality for fitting in formal event.
