Tail chair is motivated from waves and whale tail above water surface. This motif was developed into simple form that two different materials are assembled. Each part consists of thin and wide surfaces to give understated look and feel the material feature.
The drawbacks of steel and wood chairs were concurrently searched. Considering these factors, the unique structure was designed and its functionality was verified with actual model tests.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
To be out of typical structure of wood and steel chairs, simple structure was designed for visual esthetics and functional advantages within keeping the basic functions of chair. Therefore, tests had proceeded for optimizing its functionality in the new structure.
Due to its unique form, it was able to save time for producing, to save spaces with stackable design and to be customized with various materials and colors. Easy assembly by users is feasible through user-friendly design.

The project started in January 2013 in Seoul and finished in July 2014 in Seoul. It is not exposed to the public yet.
