| DESIGN NAME: POMO Lounge PRIMARY FUNCTION: Sky Bar INSPIRATION: POMO painting -Oriental art UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Use surface to lower the boundary between spaces to create uniqueness. The mirror-like surface created by water and the ground is making the space feel boundless. A glass box floating on water. Elements of the Orient is injected into the space with the splash-ink technique in landscape painting. Converting the “Landscape is making me speak of them” concept to embellish the place with ambiance of Oriental culture. Mirror-like surface formed by water reflects clouds; just like a picturesque image. The floor reflects a sense of movement in landscape painting, making itself a flowing space. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Neo Oriental proposed to break the traditional concept. Technically,the glass box sky bar is 100meters high (sky bar) from the ground overlooking the city. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Steel,Glass,POMO Marble, Titanium, Similar Metal Plate SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 265 square meter TAGS: POMO Lounge RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The site being the hub of transportation, politics, and commerce activities in central Taiwan. Taichiung being a experimental city of new conctructions,we researched on the local environment, history and culture.This study shows that the buildings are more like high-rised,so we set the on higher floor. CHALLENGE: In this case,we’d like to demonstrate a glass-box formed bar in the sky,and it is 100 meters high from the ground. The glass-box is placed around an edgeless pool as it imitates that it floats in the air and on the sea;so that when light refracts from water surface,it will appear on the interior ceiling with watery pattern.
