| DESIGN NAME: Riza Air PRIMARY FUNCTION: Lounge chair INSPIRATION: This design comes from the idea to creating a chair with organic aesthetic influences from the original works of the catalan architect Antoni Gaudí. This challenge has been possible thanks to capturing the creative dynamic of the city of Barcelona and its famous architecture contemporary breezes, the exact atmosphere that the great modernist architect was inspired. Is from this inspiration place where born this special design. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Contemporary design chair with a organic structure of high visual force that is complemented with a original back that confers special exclusivity for its users. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The idea of the design of this chair is induce to a visual impact to the viewer and the use this chair makes you feel a special experience that endure in the time. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: This project began in September 2012 when a group of David designers friends met in Barcelona design week and they discovering the potential synergy between their focus of design and finished in july 2013 with concrete the collaboration and preparing the launch of this chair with ultimate details. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: This chair is produced fully with solid wood and made with the highest specialized machinery and with the know-how to get the special features that define its forms. The back is made with a lot of slim solid wood pieces assembled with scrupulous delicacy. The finished is only with matte oil water-based varnish and it's available with some organic colors. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Width 650 x Depth 700 x Height 750mm. TAGS: lounge chair, design, contemporary, wood, organic, sustainability RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Researching the limits of technology and natural forms and using wood-based as a work platform, we've designed the parts with extreme curvatures but limited by wooden plank possibilities, getting pieces without wastage and trying to maintain a serene aesthetic criteria to conclude the pieces without too much joints. We've tryed to harmonize everything together once assembled and polished with maximum sensitivity. We use sustainable materials and environmentally friendly from its origin to the finishes to culminate this finest work. CHALLENGE: Working together with new Barcelona members of Thelos design team has been instrumental for carrying out this project and get to make a chair with modern and striking aesthetic with a warm touch of organic shapes, to play and balance these two aspects to the limit of the imagination. It's a very special piece that need to be in special places, like a famous art picture deserves the best museum or the better owner.
