DESIGN NAME:
CHARLING by BOLLLICINE

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Sparkling Wine Bottle

INSPIRATION:
The first idea was to have a glass in the same shape of the bottle but then we studied the properties of the bottle and we focus on it.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The BOLLLICINE bottle is the perfect environment for the Sparkling Wine becase the spheric body allowed to less product to be in contact with the glass surface, because the bottle is fully covered by a gummy black coating and because the short nech allowed to put less oxigen inside so the wine in the BOLLLICINE 0.75 liter bottle stay as in a Magnum (1,5) liter wher the proportion of wine comparing to the oxigen is more in advantage for the wine.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
The first 0,75 ml bottle that can perform as a Magnum size due the the same proportion between Wine and Oxigen.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The project started on Dec 28th 2011 at 4.00 am and the first product has been presented to the press at the Salone del Mobile Opening Cerimony on April 8th 2013

FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY:

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
The Bottle is in regular glass but the weight and the thikness of some specific part are properly designed for the sparkling wine with a lot of atmosphere internally. The coating is an alimentary rubber touch coating expecially developed for food and drink industry

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
This bottle is new for the Wine Industry because doesn't follow the standard rules of the industry. Everything is tailor made and far away from the sizes and the requirement from the usual production methods.

CHALLENGE:
Every part of the bottle, cork, the top security net, label have been study to be unique. The industry was pushing me to use the standard components but only with our sizes and thikness we were able to create something new and finally we decided even not to put a label but only a 3D logo in the front and a Printing in the back.
