| DESIGN NAME: Schon PRIMARY FUNCTION: Lamp INSPIRATION: This Lamp is inspired by form of seashells and overall shape of seashells and two parts of its body motivate us to approach this unique form. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Light surface of this unique lamp is placed in center of the overall shape, so it illuminate a soft and uniform light source. The light is separable from the main body so simple body shape with lower parts plus saving energy through low consumption of electricity give it a extra feature. Also touchable body for turning the light on or off is another modern feature of this unique light. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Lamp connected to the power source and the light bulb is touching the outer shell. Just light the lowering and raising of the hands on the outer casing of the light up or down. Because of the circular form of the shipping and delivery tube is simply impossible. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in June 2013 in Tehran and finished in August 2013 in Tehran. FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Lighting Products and Fixtures Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Modern production technology and products will be linked to the existing scheme, there is the challenge. Using new and recyclable materials, light weight materials , there are all new feature of this luxury product, also one part shape of the light and stability of product is another good point of it. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Width 250mm x Depth 250mm x Height 380mm with new materials it can weighted less that 400 gr but with high mechanical and physical properties so it won't scratch with help of nano coatings or won't change or lose the body color , so always we have clean and shiny product. In addition there is a few lamps in the market by the advantage of simplicity and ease of use. There are other factors such as price and product image that has considered through this design project. We tried to design a product with much of elegance and affordability. CHALLENGE: The challenge of research was to find a way to design an economic product with much of prestigious statement along its minimal form. Simplicity, low energy consumption and beauty are main factor of this design.
