| DESIGN NAME: Hive PRIMARY FUNCTION: MultiPod INSPIRATION: The project was inspired by large open public spaces and ways of using this dead space. The idea was to come up with a product which would have visual impact whilst being functional - Functional 3d design creates perfection. Through the innovative use of slats a visual effect is created from within the Hive. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: 315 Degree open fronted vertical slatted Dome. Made up from seven 45 degree Radii segments. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The Hive is the perfect solution for large breakout spaces. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in September 2012 and was finished in March 2013. The project was designed and manufactured at Senator in there Specialist devision. SwissCDF is a compactly sealed, black coloured fibre-board(>1� SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Internal diameter 2900mm, external diameter 3400mm. 2000mm High. 13mm Laminated High Density Black MDF material. TAGS: Dome, Hive, Circular, Pod, Breakout, Meeting, CDF, Form, Segments, Cave,Futuro-Virtuoso RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Research was drawn from futuristic design and form. This aesthetic is my main source of inspiration, drive and motivation. CHALLENGE: The hardest part of the design was perfecting the form and how it was constructed.
