The ceiling fan hadn’t changed for more than a century. Clunky, noisy and inelegant, it needed more than a makeover; it needed a reinvention.
Seeking inspiration from wind turbines, micro-airborne vehicles and airplane wings, we designed a high-efficiency airfoil to move large amounts of air with minimum resistance for maximum efficiency. Haiku’s three-dimensional curvature offers a vast improvement in performance over flat blades.
By identifying the shortcoming of existing fans and starting from scratch, we designed a true original. From Haiku’s direct current (DC) motor which offers unprecedented efficiency and silent operation, to its 13-step hand-balancing process that ensures no fan will ever rattle or wobble, Haiku is completely different.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Haiku looks different because it is different, with handcrafted Thin SheetTM airfoils connecting seamlessly at its center. Every Haiku undergoes multiple quality inspections and a 13-step balancing process to ensure no fan will ever rattle or wobble. Haiku’s Sensorless Drive Technology delivers nearly twice the efficiency of conventional ceiling fan motors and allows Haiku to operate silently. Exceeding ENERGY STAR’s efficiency requirements by 450%, Haiku is the total ceiling fan reinvention.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
Haiku’s axial flux permanent magnet motor is nearly twice as efficient as traditional fan motors and enables cool, quiet and smooth operation. Haiku features seven speeds and special features like timer and sleep modes. Additionally, its exclusive WhooshTM mode simulates the variations of natural airflow, increasing perceived cooling by up to 40%. Controlled by a sleek remote, Haiku is fun and easy to operate.

Haiku’s airfoils are made from Moso bamboo or a glass-infused matrix composite. Experienced furniture craftsmen oversee the bamboo airfoil creation process, from forming the precise airfoil shape to sanding the finished product and confirming accuracy. Matrix composite airfoils undergo a three-pass finish with automotive grade paint, ensuring airfoils will never dull or discolor. Every Haiku undergoes a 13-step hand-balancing process, guaranteeing no fan will ever rattle or wobble.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES:
Haiku spans 1524 mm in diameter. Its drop tube lengths range from 171 mm to 1635 mm – total fan height is between 249 mm and 1724 mm, depending on drop tube. It weighs 6 kg and is easily installed. Haiku exceeds ENERGY STAR® efficiency requirements by 450%, making it the most energy efficient ceiling fan in the world. Haiku’s matrix composite options are UL listed for use in damp locations, Haiku bamboo airfoils are FSC Certified, and every Haiku is backed by a limited lifetime warranty.
