DESIGN NAME: Undercover Pinot Noir
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Unique Gift
INSPIRATION: “I had this idea two years ago when I was in Shanghai” says Irinel Ionescu, Creative Director and Managing Partner with AMPRO Design with respect to ”Wine undercover”. “The presenter was just offering the Self-promotion awards and he was saying <<… and the bronze goes to X for a wine bottle, and the silver goes to Z for a wine bottle… >>. I wondered why nobody offers a bottle of milk to the client.”
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: To reinforce our reputation for creativity and “outside the box” design solutions, we developed this special holiday gift for our clients. With many of our international trade customers not being allowed to receive gifts for various reasons, this was neatly circumvented by asking: “who would be upset to receive a bottle of milk?” Of course, no client would expect to receive a gift like this, even more so when it was discovered that the bottle in fact contains a fine Pinot Noir.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project was developed in the first months during 2012, in Bucharest.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The first samples were painted inhouse, manually. For the 2012 Christmas, we produced 200 bottles for our clients. The paint, inscription and the Pinot Noir wine were provided by different local companies.
