INSPIRATION: To create an energy saving lamp will turn itself on automatically when the sun sets.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Dahom CFL Sensor Light turns itself on when the sun sets and the night begins. It is used in outdoor light fixtures in the driveway or gardens. So you will never be left in the dark!
It’s patented sensor activates the light once it senses that the environment is dimmer. This saves you the trouble of physically turning on the light. Or the cost of leaving the light on 24/7.
It behaves and looks exactly like the traditional Thomas Edison incandescent bulb but without the heat generated and the energy used. In fact, it saves at least 65% of the energy used. Generally a 11W Dahom CFL can replace a 60W incandescent bulb!!
And in order to achieve the frosted look and feel, instead of using acid to frost the glass, Dahom cleverly uses a patented silicon sleeve. This not only delivers the frosted look, it also makes the light output more even and environmentally friendly.
The silicon sleeve has an added function to ensuring safety. If the bulb ever happens to drop, the glass inside will not shatter. Making Dahom’s CFL Sensor Light, probably the safest sensor lamp in the world! Protecting your family and loved ones.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: In Europe, where most houses have bog gardens and driveway, it is always a problem to keep the lights on when the night sets in. So Dahom decided to combine its CFL Technology with a sensor. This produces a sensor activate light source that will turn the light on automatically when it senses the environment getting dimmer. Thus saving energy yet keeping the environment lighted.
CHALLENGE: To make this product look like a normal lightbulb, producing good even light that will turn itself on when the sun sets.
