Existing floor cleaning methods require one to first sweep the floor with a vacuum cleaner, then wipe it (with a dust cloth, mop etc.), and lastly scrub and dry.Vacuum cleaners only clean up the dust and visible particles.Mopping the floor just moves the dust from one place to another and leaves the floor wet afterwards.Wipe’n Vacuum is a brand new product combining all of these floor-cleaning stages into one product eliminating the need for multiple products and steps as well as the problems associated with each.The Wipe’n Vacuum’s engine is powered by air instead of electricity, eliminating any safety issues related to electrical dangers.Unlike others, the air required to power the rotating brush is provided through a clean medium.This ensures the absorbed polluted air does not pass through the air engine, and the fan operating the engine remain clean.Keeping the polluted air from passing through the engine extends the life span of the product and prevents the suction from decreasing over time.
Additionally, while the telescopic metal pipes used within most vacuum cleaners cause corrosion and hygiene problems, the telescopic plastic pipe used in the Wipe’n Vacuum eliminates corrosion
Unlike other products on market, Wipe’n Vacuum’s clean water hose passes through the air suction hose. Therefore, eliminating any problems relating to the breakage, wearing or bending of the pipe.
The suction duct cylinder, hose, pipe and bucket-shaped reservoir in the Wipe’n Vacuum, can be removed entirely and washed, thus providing an extended product life
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Wipe’n Vacuum is an all-inclusive product that sweeps, wipes, removes stains and dries the floor, it provides the users with a new and efficient cleaning experience. It can also be used as a water filter vacuum cleaner. Moreover, since all of the parts that dirt and dust pass through have been designed in a removable way, the use and cleaning of Wipe’n Vacuum is practical and easy, which saves the user’s valuable time. An air engine is used to power the brush which eliminates the danger risks. This allows for the user’s hygiene needs and expectations to be completely met.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
Integrating and developing the sense of cleaning comprised of sweeping-wiping-drying stages, Wipe’n Vacuum utilizes the water in an effective way in each stage of the cleaning, it consumes less water compared to the conventional methods and it eliminates the use of consumables ( such as mops).With its 1.5 litre capacity water reservoir, it can clean the entire house by allowing 25 minutes of continued water use. It has been designed in such a way that all parts can be easily removed, washed and used for over and over. It can also be used as a water filter vacuum cleaner.
Another prominent point is the vacuum lock. In competitors’ designs, such tanks are fixed to the body using locks, but thanks to new design in Wipe’n Vacuum, bucket shaped water reservoir and the clean water tank can be placed and removed in an easy way that no other locks are needed
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
Project started in February 2011 in Istanbul. It will be launched into market in 2012 December.

Wipe’n Vacuum was designed in accordance with the conventional sense of cleaning . Traditional cleaning methods are analayzed and hundreds of prototypes were made to be able to reach this level. Fan turbines of jet motors have been analayzed to develop the air engine which is used to power the rotating brush.
One of the most challenging area was the air engine.The air required to power the rotating brush is provided through a clean medium.This ensures the absorbed polluted air does not pass through the air engine, and the fan operating the engine remain clean.Keeping the polluted air from passing through the engine extends the life span of the product and prevents the suction from decreasing over time.The amount of the air sucked and the cycle of the air turbine as well as the gear system was very critical and challenging during design prosess.
