PRIMARY FUNCTION: Light
INSPIRATION: The Hier table lamp is a fusion of two completely opposite aesthetic concepts: industrial and playful.
Following one of the latest trends where the inspiration comes from the shapes, elements and objects related to the industry and construction, the Hier lamp adds a touch of humor through the choice of infantile and primary colors.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Thanks to it’s materials, the colors can be changed in many options. This feature, allows a wide range of potential users. The final result is simple, fun and cheerful.
Besides its obvious function as a lamp of atmospheric light, the Hier can be used as a flashlight in case of blackout, thanks to two regular rechargeable batteries that contains inside and that are kept charged through the electrical connection. It can be placed in 3 different positions, each of which provides a different luminosity.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Either the switch and the shape allow the user tho play with the object. You can interact with the light whether you're child, youth or adult. It's mobility thanks to the batteries, makes it easy to enjoy it in anywhere, even outside the house. In the garden, in the balcony even in the countryside!
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in january 2012 in Nottingham, England. It finished in March 2012.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The components of the Hier lamp are: Bright power LEDs, structure in Epoxy satin turquoise laquer, a diffuser in mat opal acylic for the screen and a switch in yellow polypropylene. In the inside there are 2 regular rechargeable batteries and the light is connected en through a 1m long dark turquoise woven textile cable.
The cost of one unit is £70 aprox.
