| DESIGN NAME: Six For All PRIMARY FUNCTION: Chair, Bench, Bed, Table and Shelf Together INSPIRATION: reducing a complex furniture-object in a few elementary elements UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: with only six repeating elements You can put together a complete furniture OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: this project is conceived for the end consumer. it gives a lot of options to assembly a furniture in many different ways: using only six elements. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: First project presentation was in October 2011: ES Gallery - Meran|Merano (I), then march 2012 Artspace - Bolzano|Bozen (I) and finally it would be in april 2012 in the Archivio Sacchi - Sesto San Giovanni (MI) FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Furniture Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: CNC digital milling machine, plywood and pressed wood-fibre. NAME: Benno Simma - ArtArchitectureDesignMusic PROFILE: Benno Simma mainly delves into minimisation of components that seem to shape many of our everyday objects. In his exhibitions at the ES Gallery of Contemporary Art in Merano (I), at Artspace in Bolzano (I) and last but not least at the Archivio Sacchi in Sesto San Giovanni (MI), the Designer deals with archetypes of classic interior furnishings. Simma starts with just six components and uses them repeatedly to make a stool, chair, bench, shelf, bed, and dining table: these six pieces comprise the exhibition-hence the title of the show, six for all. |
