PRIMARY FUNCTION:
11.5m Sports Trimaran Yacht
INSPIRATION:
Orca, Earthrace
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
There are not many small trimaran luxury performance yachts on the market most are for sport use only and do not have too much aesthetic appeal. The stability and sustainability of the trimaran layout is better than that of a monohull.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
This yacht is functioned from the exterior navigation area or the interior navigation seat. There is an exterior bbq and seating area. in the interior there is a sink in the kitchenette with a fridge there is a small bathroom with a toilet and sink and a seating/dining area which converts to a bed.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The project started in October 2011 in Coventry and ended in December 2011in coventry

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
The research undertaken was mainly focused on small power boats such as wally and Fjord. I could not beanchmark any power boats which were trimarans as there are none on the market or in conceptual stages The engine power and layout of the yacht is very rare
CHALLENGE:
The hardest part of the design was to include the outriggers into the main hull in a way to make a flowing composition which in the end I believe I achieved.
