DESIGN NAME: Get the hang of it
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Paper bag
INSPIRATION: We have got the inspiration from the fact that there are not any hangers around when you need them!
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The "get the hang of it" bag has two no ordinary handles. They are actually two detachable carboard hangers. The user can hang up his newly
purchased clothes at once! This bag gives the opportunity to retail stores to "go green" and remain at the forefront of the fashion world. It also urges consumers that concern themselves with the state of the environment, to avoid the use of plastic bags and hangers.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Where did all the hangers go..?
They’re never enough and there isn’t one around when you need it!
Well, that’s about to change!
The “get the hang of it” bag is made of recycled/recyclable paper and cardboard.
Rip the two cardboard hangers off the paper bag and your new clothes
will find their place in your closet at once.
Just “get the hang of it”…!!
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in 2007 in Athens and finished in 2009 in Athens. It was exhibited in SaloneSatellite 2010 in Milan where it was received by the visitors with exclamations of surprise for its witty, clever and sustainable design.
FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Packaging Design

DEDE think that innovation and conceptual approach can make a difference in the industrial and product design field. They also believe that humor can generate unorthodox and stimulating thinking that contributes to progressive ideas and therefore to unconventional design items. It can also be a drastic way to approach people and inspire them to think under a different light.
From the 14th to the 19th of April 2010 DEDE participated in the international fair for young designers SALONESATELLITE 2010, in Milan.
In August 2010 DEDE won the RED DOT award:design concept 2010 for the “this side up” table.
