| DESIGN NAME: PowerTower PRIMARY FUNCTION: Wooden Toy Set INSPIRATION: Kids at every age enjoy making sand castles on the beach. The inspiration that led to this project was the idea of building your very own castle, tower or any other structure wherever you are with your very own block set. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Power Tower is a wooden toy set for kids above the age of 5. Within a set there are 37 different pieces which consist of 7 domes, 15 facades, 4 roofs, 2 bridges, 6 columns and 3 trees. With these different structural pieces, children can build their own towers and castles. As the number of pieces increase, the variety and size in the construction increase in accordingly. The shapes used are universal construction figures making it effortless for everyone to play. Healthy, safe and recyclable materials are used for production making the set an environmental product. Power Tower is a set for children of all ages. In addition to its’ flexibility and modularity, the game offers limitless solutions leading to a long-lasting entertainment period. These construction blocks resurrect numerous different architectural cultures. This game set will improve the children’s abstraction technique and 3D shaping ability while enhancing basic hand skills. During the time we got these design concepts a little bit further and began to design functional, user friendly and representative products in terms of emotion. We tried not to make them figurative but evoke something in people’s minds whom they should identify the design with something in their life.
