| DESIGN NAME: Swack! PRIMARY FUNCTION: Sweater Backpack INSPIRATION: Designed when I was on crutches. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This design is patent pending, what makes it unique is how the backpack is integrated with the sweater giving it an appereance from the front like there's nothing there. Swack comes from me joining the word sweater pack into one, and adding the exclamation mark for a little flare. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The backpack straps go through the shoulder of the sweater, which gives it a stealth look. Sweater can be worn with or without the backpack. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: This concept was designed in 2004, and turned into a product in late 2010. FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Fashion, Apparel and Garment Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: High end fleece and excellent quality multi functional backpack with some green feature(lead free content). SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: This item is made for kids sizes 8, 10 ,12 and adult sizes small, medium, large , xlarge, and 2x large. TAGS: Swack! Sweater Backpack, Swack Pack, Fusion Pack RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The basic design came up when I was on cutches and wearing a old backpack in which the straps irritated my crutches. I modified a hooded sweater so that the straps can go through my sweater and not be in the way of my crutches. Everytime I would go to physical therapy I was asked where did I get that, so that's what made me produce the fusion swackpack. CHALLENGE: The hardest part was finding a designer who could add style to my concept. The mission was a success after hundreds of I can't do that, I found a guy who new a designer that was able to help me bring style to my design.
