| DESIGN NAME: Triangledex PRIMARY FUNCTION: Bus Stop INSPIRATION: Triangledex attempts to preserve the traces and memories of industrial city clusters and eliminate the inherent negative stereotypes of traditional industrial cities. The main color tone of the interactive interface is rational blue, ensuring recognition while conforming to the efficient and high-tech color inspiration of modern smart industrial cities. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Triangledex, a new form of bus stop, designed for post-industrial cities. It is based on deconstructivist aesthetics and attempts to explore more possibilities. The stable triangle has been modified through nonlinear modeling. The final presentation of a soft yet rigid triangular element gives Triangledex a more sporty feel. In the context of smart cities, more interactive elements have been integrated into bus stops, providing citizens with more intuitive information visualization expressions. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Triangledex's interactive interface is divided into standard screen and secondary screen. The standard screen displays operating status and platform information, abstracting and simplifying public transport routes on a spatial scale, and visualizing the predictability involved. The sub-screen provides real-time data such as time, weather and full load rate. According to the passenger density data of each vehicle and passenger data of each platform, the data is counted and sorted under the strategy of smart city, and the expected arrival full load rate is finally calculated for visual presentation. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in February 2025 in LAFA Communal Facility Design Studio and finished in March 2025 in National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center of Industrial Design in LAFA. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: We chose frosted stainless steel as the main material of Triangledex, which is strong and reliable, but also brings the unique texture of the metal reflected from different angles. Above the ceiling are transparent solar panels that provide energy for the product without affecting its transparency. The whole product is divided into universal body parts and cast connectors and combined with screws to find a balance between economy and aesthetics. At present, major cities are actively promoting the wisdom of public transport systems, and improving the limitations of existing public transport systems has been developing towards universality. The existing bus service system has several problems waiting to be solved, such as rigid information transmission, opacity, and one-way interaction. The design team decided to re-explore the interactive value of bus stations in public space from the perspective of informatization, wisdom and art. That's the beginning of Triangledex. CHALLENGE: The challenge of our design is that we cannot find a reasonable way in it’s appearance which is satisfying in function at the beginning. After a certain number of sketching and discussing of our project, we finally find the proper selection which achieves the desired effect. NAME: LuXun Academy of Fine Arts PROFILE: Luxun Academy of Fine Arts was founded in 1938, was founded in Yanan, Shaanxi Lu Xun Art Institute, in 1938 by Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai and other older generation leaders personally initiated the creation. In 1945, the College moved to the northeast and developed into Luxun Academy of Fine Arts in 1958. |
