PRIMARY FUNCTION: Cave Aging Premium Liquor
INSPIRATION: The design draws sleek lines from karst caves of Nandan, a wonder shaped by millennia of natural erosion. It contrasts the rough texture of stone walls with the technological luster of titanium metal, creating a visual dialogue between primal and futuristic elements. Bottled liquor flows like underground rivers, while the layered structure of the outer box represents the depth of limestone caves. Metallic gold, black diamond, and violet gold enhance its premium and distinctive identity.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This packaging design integrates the iconic elements of Nandan, Guangxi, including its karst landscapes, cave aging culture, and the quality of premium sauce flavored Baijiu, into visual and tactile experiences. It is both artistic and practical. The bottle mimics the sedimentary formations of limestone caves, while the outer box abstracts the majesty of the Danquan Liquor Culture Scenic Area. The material contrasts and interplay of light and shadow convey the flowing time and craftsmanship.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The packaging design creates immersive, multisensory interactions. When rotating the bottle, its titanium plated surface refracts light to produce flowing halos, reminiscent of cave stalactites. The karst inspired texture, achieved through specialized etching, preserves the raw tactility of the stone while delivering a refined metallic texture. Each touch reveals layered nuances. It is also designed with a collectible value, exuding a unique aesthetic appeal.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The design and development of this project started in CREATEUNIDEA, in April 2024. It was completed on September 14th, 2024.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The bottle is crafted from high borosilicate glass, processed through 3D embossing, with a titanium plated surface that replicates the metallic texture of cave formations. This creates a distinctive style and enhances durability. Specially treated, the glass maintains liquor purity while refracting unique radiance. The environmentally friendly packaging combines traditional craftsmanship with modern printing, embodying a environmental commitment and pursuit of excellence.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The integration of natural elements makes the product more appealing, while communicating the ecological values advocated by the brand. After extensive research in Nandan, Guangxi, the design team discovered how the regional ancient rock formations resonate with the cave aging techniques of Danquan Liquor. By using geological textures for visual expression and cave aging culture as spiritual core, the design bridges geographical heritage, product essence, and modern consumer experience.
CHALLENGE: The challenge was transforming rugged cave formations into a refined style for premium liquor. The team employed parametric modeling to convert geological data into decorative patterns, preserving natural textures without literal kitsch. The packaging underwent titanium etching and plating techniques, using laser engraving to create microscopic 3D textures onto the glass bottle with 0.1mm precision. These textures refract light to mimic dynamic subterranean shimmer for a striking visual appeal.
