| DESIGN NAME: Signal PRIMARY FUNCTION: Pendant Jewelry INSPIRATION: The creative team sought to break away from conventional jewelry designs. Inspired by life’s journey, they saw signals as connections linking moments, much like evolving human relationships. This idea shaped the essence of the piece Signal. The design combines signals and neurons—signals form the structure, while neurons create connections that bring it to life. This fusion symbolizes the continuous and ever-evolving rhythm of life. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: From a fashion perspective, wearing jewelry enhances one’s overall look with striking details. The creative team envisions a piece that moves gracefully with the wearer, bringing it to life through motion. The piece Signal is designed with a neuron-inspired support structure forming its main framework. Joint clasps are integrated into the upper and lower sections, while strategic weight distribution allows the piece to sway, creating a dynamic and original jewelry design. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Signal is a unique, original jewelry piece, symbolizing connections in life’s journey. It is easy to use—just align the main structure like a puzzle, press the clasp to secure it, and let the upper and lower sections sway freely. Next, attach the silver chain and adjust both sides to the desired length for a perfect fit. Depending on the chain length and styling, the piece transforms into different looks, allowing the wearer to express their individuality. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project began in January 2018 and was completed in October 2018 after months of effort. It was officially showcased at the Taiwan Craft Competition Exhibition in November 2018. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The creation of Signal follows a meticulous process, blending traditional craftsmanship with modern technology. Beginning with hand-sketched concepts and handcrafted wax models, the design is refined through precise 3D printing. Using recycled 925 sterling silver, the piece is vacuum cast, then hand-polished to achieve a mirror-like shine. Its dynamic structure allows natural movement, transforming it from a mere accessory into a symbol of connection and the future. Through innovation and sustainability, Signal embodies both elegance and meaning. Signal symbolizes life’s connections, with a 3D network structure representing energy and thought. The design process combined hand-carved wax models, digital modeling, and 3D printing. Made from recyclable 925 sterling silver, Signal is crafted through 3D printing, lost-wax casting, and hand-polishing. Its dynamic structure moves with the wearer, embodying connection and change. CHALLENGE: The design concept originates from the idea that the piece moves up and down with the wearer’s movements, distinguishing Signal from other jewelry. Specializing in handcrafted silver jewelry, the brand offers rings, necklaces, bracelets, and earrings, primarily crafted from 925 sterling silver, occasionally accented with natural gemstones or unique materials.
