PRIMARY FUNCTION: Sustainable Sportswear
INSPIRATION: Inspiration stemmed from the consideration of sustainable fashion and functionality. We aimed to maximize athletic performance while significantly reducing environmental impact through deliberate choices in fibers, fabrics, design, and production methods. It uniquely blends fashion with high-performance technical innovation, featuring adaptive auxetic fabrics, smart thermal and moisture regulation, and sustainable, eco-friendly materials, setting new standards for stylish, functional skiwear.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Leopitorca represents a pioneering fusion of avant-garde fashion aesthetics and high-performance functional skiwear. Leopitorca redefines traditional skiwear at its core by meticulously integrating technologically advanced fabrics and innovative design elements that prioritize visual impact and athletic performance. Beyond functionality, Leopitorca’s design ethos champions sustainability.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The design collection stands out due to its advanced fabric technologies, strategic garment engineering, and user-centered design. We use unique waterproof-breathable membranes, intelligent insulation zones, and anatomically optimized cuts to ensure superior weather protection, thermal comfort, and unrestricted movement. Additionally, robust seam sealing, abrasion-resistant reinforcements, and carefully placed ventilation elements help balance heat retention with breathability.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in June 2024 in Hong Kong and finished in Jan 2025 in Hong Kong and will be exhibited at the Design Summit Hong Kong. Through ongoing research and refinement, we are consistently enhancing each product iteration to more closely reflect our core design philosophy.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: We shield against snow, rain, and melting ice using highly water-resistant materials and membranes. Innovative layering manages perspiration while preventing external moisture. Advanced insulation retains warmth, and anatomically cut panels support dynamic movements, crouching, twisting, and reaching, essential for skiing. Where possible, we adopt eco-friendly fabrics like recycled polyester and reduce water usage.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Our garments are produced according to a base size designed for women with a height of 170 cm and a chest circumference of 88 cm. The amount of ease in each piece is carefully calculated to accommodate the specific range of movement required for its intended activity.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: These ski apparel designs prioritize innovation, sustainability, and performance, using patented PLA-based biodegradable fabric, ergonomic construction, and thermal management. We combined quantitative lab tests, including insulation, water resistance, and durability with qualitative feedback. Professional athletes and recreational skiers tested prototypes, refining fit and movement. Findings confirm improved comfort, mobility, and eco-responsibility.
CHALLENGE: The biggest challenge was integrating advanced biodegradable fabrics with stringent performance requirements such as water resistance, breathability, and thermal insulation while maintaining a comfortable, ergonomic fit. Achieving durability without compromising sustainability required rigorous material testing and design refinement.
