INSPIRATION: The V House, or alternatively Boomerang, was driven by the goal of integrating sustainability with modern luxury, transforming an existing structure into an energy-efficient, environmentally responsible residence. Inspired by LEED principles, it balances cutting-edge architecture, green design, and nature to redefine luxury living while minimizing environmental impact.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The V House is a groundbreaking future Leed Gold-certified, net-zero energy luxury residence that blends sustainability with modern design. It features advanced smart technologies, energy-efficient systems, and biophilic design elements that reduce environmental impact without compromising comfort. Integrating photovoltaic panels, smart home automation, and sustainable materials sets new standards for luxury real estate, offering a seamless connection between nature, technology, and elegance.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The V House embraces smart, energy efficient living. Automated systems adjust temperature, lighting, and energy use to optimize comfort and reduce consumption. Natural light floods the home, while sustainable materials and green technologies ensure a minimal environmental footprint, providing luxury with a focus on sustainability.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Τhis sustainable and smart project will be completed in May 2025. It is set to become one of Greece’s first Leed Gold-certified residence. It promotes urban cooling, biodiversity, and enhanced green space, combining cutting-edge design with environmental stewardship.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The design incorporates parametric modeling, energy simulations, and Leed-certified strategies to maximize sustainability. High-performance materials, smart automation, and integrated photovoltaic panels enhance energy efficiency, reducing the environmental impact of the development.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Spanning 425 sqm over four levels, the residence uses energy efficient insulation, triple glazed windows, and smart systems like knx automation to control climate and energy usage. The rooftop pool features an eco friendly heat pump, ensuring sustainability and luxury.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: This project explores retrofitting an existing property into a Leed Gold certified, net-zero energy smart home. Through audits, energy tests, and Leed guidelines, the design team enhanced insulation and integrated efficient systems, setting a new benchmark for eco friendly luxury living.
CHALLENGE: The challenge was merging luxury with sustainability while retrofitting an older structure. Balancing architectural integrity with green technologies required innovative solutions to meet stringent Leed standards and modernize without compromising environmental goals.
