| DESIGN NAME: 18K Gold Sugilite Double Chain PRIMARY FUNCTION: Jewelry INSPIRATION: The Oriental Exhibition of the Old Summer Palace, organized by the British Museum, exhibited a collection of oriental artworks, particularly carvings, leaving deep impression on the designers with their immense cultural significance and artistic mastery. These pieces not only evoked a sense of honor through the use of luxurious materials but also made viewers astonished due to the embodied cultural and artistic values. This experience inspired the design of a bracelet. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This elegant women is bracelet intricately weaves strong elements of oriental culture to convey themes of good fortune and prosperity. The pairing of purple gemstones with gold represents the ideal fusion of wealth and honor in traditional Chinese culture. The vine motif featured prominently symbolizes good luck and vitality, while the Ruyi pattern at both ends conveys heavenly blessings and abundance. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Position the bracelet on your wrist and identify the clasp along with the corresponding eyelet. Secure the clasp through the designated eyelet. Should you wish to modify the bracelet's length, you may adjust the various clasps along the chain to accommodate your wrist size. Once the clasp is properly secured, the bracelet will rest gracefully and securely around the wrist, and its intricate designs and embellishments render the wealth and elegance of oriental culture. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project commenced in April 2024 in California, USA, and reached completion in August 2024 in Vancouver, Canada. It is scheduled for presentation in August 2024 at the Teases store in Rinoart. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: At the heart of the decorative element lies a precious Sugilite stone, shaped like a four-leaf clover, symbolizing good luck. The sides are adorned with green zirconia. Its main structure is crafted from 18K gold, complemented by 24K gold plating and intricately hand-carved decorative patterns finished through the openwork technique. Additionally, the bracelet features a double chain design to ensure stability on the wrist and prevent it from flipping. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Length: 18.5cm TAGS: Gold Engraving, Sugilite, Double Chain, Elegance, Oriental Culture, Women RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Embellished with the characters Dragon, Phoenix and Present, Auspiciousness at both ends of the Ruyi pattern, these elements together convey the Chinese phrase Dragon and Phoenix present auspiciousness. This phrase symbolizes the harmonious balance of Yin and Yang, embodying the essence of heaven and earth. The dragon and phoenix are revered as the highest symbols of good fortune, harmony, and prosperity. CHALLENGE: The openwork carving on the 18K gold base demands exceptional skill to ensure consistency of patterns and prevents distortion of the thin gold layer. The micro-carving of the Dragon and Phoenix present auspiciousness seal script in the Ruyi pattern groove is performed with a specialized 0.3mm carving knife under a magnifying glass. Each part undergoes dozens of procedures and meticulous inspections to achieve a delicate balance between artistry and functionality.
