| DESIGN NAME: Avant PRIMARY FUNCTION: Bathroom Furniture INSPIRATION: Two concepts: the play of volumes and transparencies, plus the combination of materials. The inspiration comes from the contrast of lacquered unicolor surfaces against textures such as stones or wood with their natural imperfections, as well as the integrated solid surface washbasin and smoked glass. Complex vs. simple... Uniqueness for plurality..., to create a concept of bathroom furniture that is unique for the majority of users, where it can combine harmoniously with the rest of the elements UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Avant collection proposes a bathroom furniture with an integrated washbasin, doors with an exclusive profile that combine wood, stone and glass, together with the rest of the container elements and a unique backlit mirror, forming a personal bathroom furnishing, expressed through the minimalism of the shapes. Avant is an exercise in abstraction and dynamism. The pieces are assembled at different depths, creating an asymmetrical and balanced relationship with thin horizontal lines of their fr OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The furniture in the Avant collection is simple to use. Doors and drawers open with cushioned closure. The Avant mirror has a rotation and approach system for the magnifying lens, practicable by hand. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: This Project started in Valencia (SPAIN) in June 2023 and is currently in the last phase of completion. FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Furniture Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: This design is developed with ergonomic standards and 3D creation processes. Always after an exhaustive creative process of sketches and models, working on the colors and textures with collaborating suppliers of our studio. Market analysis and previous products showed us the way to follow in this design that is incorporated into an extensive program of washbasins and container elements for the firm Akua belonging to Grupo Bono. The design is developed with sustainable materials such as chipboard and MDF. The construction process is developed in the Grupo Bono factory, which has the highest production technology in the furniture manufacturing industry. Different analyses of trends in the habitat sector give us enough information to determine which range of colours and materials we should select. Our cultural background and accumulated experience in the design of home furnishings mark the formal lines of our design. CHALLENGE: The biggest challenge is to find the perfect balance between aesthetics, form, materials and technologies, with an adjusted manufacturing cost price. Considering that our client is part of a medium segment with high production and turnover. High visual impact + maximum functionality // High productivity + low cost.
