DESIGN NAME: Gioia No 1
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Lady Golf Driver
INSPIRATION: “I was teaching a very nice lady but unfortunately, she couldn't get to grips with her driver swing. I thought, why do women and amateurs have to play with a driver that isn't right for them? That's how the story of GIOIA began.” We created the perfect club, enabling amateur golfers to grow in the game and just have fun when teeing off. The design is smooth, highly effective, and its minimalistic rationalism brings the correct dose of understatement of quality and luxury to the play.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Golf can be challenging, especially the frustration after a failed shot. That's why we developed the first MOI-optimized driver for women and amateur golfers. GIOIA is a particularly easy-to-play driver customized to the golfers’ momentum of inertia and the biomechanical characteristics of female, non-professional golfers. Every part of the driver is designed for optimized launch angles at slower swing speeds. The results are accuracy, longer distances from the tee, and confidence in the game.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The driver's head is intended to be fully fitted by GIOIA professionals to transfer the feel of shorter clubs to the driver. Therefore, it offers plenty of integrated fitting options. The remote fitting process is quick, easy and precise and can be done from the comfort of your own home. You can get your unique GIOIA driver in just a few steps. After you have entered all the necessary information into a form, the GIOIA fitting software calculates the optimal driver specifications for you. Our professionals will then tailor your driver for you in the workshop. Carefully packaged, your exclusive GIOIA driver will be delivered to your home.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in 2023 and was presented in 2025 in Linz, Austria.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: A fist design prototype was realized using FDM and SLA 3D print with PLA and ABS like resin. After the definition of the final geometry, another second prototype was created. To aim for a final material touch-and-feel the prototype was made via SLM 3D print using EOS TI 64 Titanium alloy as the material of choice. For the series production the products are produced with investment casting. The final material is Ti811(TI-8AL-1V) Titanium alloy.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Heel to toe: 119,35mm / Sole to crown: 64,44mm / Face to back: 106mm / Lie 60° / Loft 19° / Bulge 13° / Roll 13° / Volume: 420ccm / Weight: 170g -190g / Additional weights for the back: max. 50g / Additional weights for the heel max. 10g.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Very often conventional women's drivers simply do not fit, as if they had been designed for men and subsequently modified slightly for women. Most women's drivers were often too long, too heavy and had a loft that was unsuitable for the individual swing power and technique. For three years we devoted ourselves intensively to the goal of developing the perfect driver for slow swing speeds. We tested different lengths, weights and lofts, analysed materials and spoke to numerous female golfers about their experiences and challenges. What began as an observation became a mission: to create the ideal women's and amateurs' driver that meets special requirements and helps women to reach their full potential.
CHALLENGE: Designing a Golf driver, the following standardized design and construction parameters apply: The Lie Angle has to be 60°. The distance from heel to toe must be greater than the distance from face to back. The distance from heel to toe must not be greater than 127mm. The distance from the sole to the crown cannot be greater than 71,12mm. If the outermost point of the heel is not clearly defined, it is deemed to be 22,24mm above the horizontal plane on which the club (driver) is lying. The Volume must not exceed 460 cubic centimetres, plus a tolerance of 10 cubic centimetres. The distance between the heel and the plane containing the axis of the shaft should be greater than 15,88mm. The centre of gravity should lay on the neutral axis plane through the face centre.
