DESIGN NAME: Snow Park
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Exhibition Center
INSPIRATION: Concept:
The inspiration for this project comes from a documentary about a Chinese explorer's glacier expedition. The goal is to create six themed scenes: 1. Ice Lake, 2. Ice Tunnel, 3. Ice Cave, 4. Ice Light, 5. Ice Cone, and 6. Ice House, presenting an immersive "Ice and Snow World Adventure Documentary."
The motivation is to combine the spirit of natural exploration with modern design, creating a landmark space that has both cultural depth and commercial value.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: 1. Advantages: This project is the exhibition center for the world's largest indoor ski resort, with unique scale and influence.
2.Objective: Through the design language of "ice, snow, light, and art," the exhibition hall is created as a landmark building that harmoniously blends technology and culture, seamlessly transitioning from an exhibition center to commercial use, and providing the project with lasting economic and operational value.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The exhibition hall features a fluid circulation design and multi-sensory interactive installations that seamlessly immerse visitors. Upon entry, touchscreens, holographic projections, and immersive sandboxes allow visitors to engage with snow-themed content, such as exploring glacier knowledge or viewing real-time snow landscape projections. Following the exhibition's flow offers a progressive experience, with each section providing layered sensory encounters—from visual and auditory to tactile—for a fully immersive journey.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in April 2024 in Shenzhen and finished in January 2025 in Shenzhen

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Glass Fiber Reinforced Gypsum: Known for its excellent moldability, lightweight properties, and recyclability, Glass Fiber Reinforced Gypsum is ideal for creating flowing walls and ribbon-style light fixtures. It precisely captures the design's curves, reduces construction waste, and complies with green building standards.
Ice Jade Stone: Featured in the tunnel area, its translucent texture, enhanced by natural light and shadow, embodies the essence of ice and snow. Durable and eco-friendly, it brings lasting artistic vitality to the space.
Holographic Projection & Immersive Technology: Through holographic projections, LED screens, and dynamic lighting, the space offers a multi-dimensional experience, immersing visitors in an ice and snow world while enhancing interactivity and a sense of technology.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: This project uses Glass Fiber Reinforced Gypsum materials, which, with their excellent moldability and lightweight characteristics, precisely replicate the delicate textures of snow and the surface of glaciers, successfully creating the natural wonder of a glacier. At the same time, Glass Fiber Reinforced Gypsum materials offer outstanding durability and environmental performance, ensuring the long-term use and sustainability of the space.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: This project has not only advanced the development of the ice and snow tourism industry, attracting more attention and consumption trends, but also raised public awareness about glacier protection and climate change, spreading the concept of sustainable development. In terms of design, the project breaks through the limitations of traditional spatial design by integrating natural elements with futuristic concepts.
CHALLENGE: The main challenge in designing the Hua Fa Ice and Snow World Exhibition Hall was achieving strong visual impact within a limited space, complicated by 36 structural columns and irregular ceilings in the basement. The design team addressed this by integrating the columns into a streamlined layout with Glass Fiber Reinforced Gypsum materials, while light fixtures minimized their presence. Using snow textures, light and shadow effects, and holographic projections, they overcame spatial constraints, creating a surreal, immersive experience that enhanced both functionality and artistic appeal.
