| DESIGN NAME: Light and Harmony PRIMARY FUNCTION: Model House INSPIRATION: The inspiration comes from a deep understanding of the lifestyle of a modern family of four, with a focus on balancing family interaction and private space. In a traditional Chinese family, parents and children are often busy with their own activities, leading to less interaction. The design incorporates an open dining, kitchen, and spacious living room layout to create shared spaces that encourage family gathering and communication. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This modern light-luxury show center envisions an ideal future lifestyle. The design optimizes space and layout to offer a comfortable, interactive living experience that caters to modern families’ needs for relaxation, connection, and personalization. The blend of aesthetics and functionality creates a warm, inviting atmosphere, inspiring clients to envision their perfect home. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The open layout of the dining, kitchen, and living areas fosters family interaction, while private spaces like the bedrooms maintain personal comfort. Natural wood finishes and soft tones provide warmth, complemented by marble, metal, and glass for a modern, sophisticated touch. The combination of these elements enhances spatial depth and brightness. Large windows and reflective surfaces diffuse natural light, creating a comfortable, livable atmosphere. The design balances functionality with aesthetics, reflecting a refined lifestyle. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Space Materials: The color palette features light tones with grey accents, while natural wood finishes add warmth and an organic touch. Wood flooring and beige-gray lacquered panels enhance brightness and spaciousness. Bronze stainless steel, natural marble, and tea glass create a cozy, modern aesthetic that blends natural beauty with contemporary style. Furniture: The furniture combines wood and stone finishes, with a leather and velvet sofa accented by silver-gray cushions for added texture. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The living room’s feature wall is made of marble, measuring 1000mm x 18mm x 1900mm . The large-scale stone design enhances the grandeur of the space, conveying a sense of luxury. The construction technique uses a dry-hanging method, where a steel frame is welded to the wall and stone slabs are hung with brackets, ensuring that the marble can be recycled during deconstruction, in line with sustainable development principles. TAGS: Model house, Family Space, Family Sharing, Light Luxury, Light And Shadow RESEARCH ABSTRACT: This project showcases how modern residences can enhance market competitiveness by blending functionality with aesthetics, offering a premium living experience. Its open layout fosters family interaction, addressing the emotional needs of modern families. The design combines natural elements with contemporary materials, infusing warmth and care into the light-luxury style. Reflecting a people-centered philosophy, it sets a new benchmark for modern home design. CHALLENGE: Challenge The challenge was balancing the needs of different family members—restful spaces for adults, a quiet study for children, and the need for both privacy and shared spaces to foster family interaction. Design Solution By rethinking traditional privacy, the design creates open, shared spaces while maintaining functional independence. Large windows and reflective materials bring in natural light, enhancing brightness and creating a multi-dimensional environment that balances function with emotional connection.
