| DESIGN NAME: Woosmell PRIMARY FUNCTION: Sustainable Packaging INSPIRATION: In traditional packaging, the purpose is often fulfilled the moment the consumer opens it, after which it is discarded or left unused. To address this issue, we have redefined packaging as a fashionable accessory, imbuing it with functionality and practicality to seamlessly integrate into daily life. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Scent is intangible and elusive, but WooSmell encapsulates it with the innovative design concept of "packaging aroma." This abstract element is cleverly enclosed in portable, lunch-bag-style packaging. As a fragrance brand focused on olfactory design, we delicately preserve aromas within these unique bags, presenting them as a distinctive gift for scent enthusiasts who cherish the art of fragrance. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Usage Instructions for the Flameless Fragrance Diffuser: Attach the included cork diffuser ball to the neck of the fragrance bottle. The fragrance liquid is transferred through the built-in cotton wick inside the cork diffuser ball, which will then continuously release a gentle fragrance over time. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The design project officially commenced in October 2024 and has been ongoing to date. In March 2025, it received both the MUSE Design Awards Gold Award and the French Design Award Gold Prize. Subsequently, in April 2025, the project was honored with the Red Dot Product Design Award. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Using Tyvek paper as the outer packaging material;The use of cork materials instead of traditional wood or fiber materials as aromatherapy diffuser SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Outer packaging bag (the small size):22X27X10mm;Out TAGS: Fragrance, Sustainable, packaging design RESEARCH ABSTRACT: - CHALLENGE: In conventional packaging design, the purpose is often fulfilled the moment consumers unwrap the product, after which the packaging becomes disposable or obsolete. To transform this paradigm, we have reengineered packaging using ultra-durable Tyvek® material - an eco-conscious synthetic paper developed by DuPont. This innovative approach allows our premium packaging to transition from protective casing to a reusable lifestyle accessory, seamlessly integrating sustainability with contemporary aesthetics in daily use.
