| DESIGN NAME: Gentle X PRIMARY FUNCTION: Electric Toothbrush INSPIRATION: GentleX is inspired by the elephant (strong, intelligent, and gentle), symbolizing both power and care in oral hygiene. Traditional toothbrushes and many existing electric models often lack ergonomics, hygiene solutions, and convenience-driven features. We envisioned GentleX as a seamless blend of technology, hygiene, and aesthetics, transforming the daily routine of brushing into an effortless and premium experience. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: GentleX redefines smart oral care with a wireless, magnetic charging system and an elegant wall mounted dock. This elevated design reduces cross-contamination on bathroom surfaces. Its Travel Cap with UV-C sterilization ensures complete hygiene on the go, while the ultrasleek form factor makes it compact yet powerful. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The toothbrush magnetically attaches to the wall mount, which serves as a wireless charging dock. Users can switch between three brushing modes- Clean, Sensitive, and Whitening to suit individual needs. The UV-C Travel Cap actively disinfects the bristles, ensuring bacteria-free storage. The soft charcoal bristles provide a deep yet gentle clean, ensuring optimal oral health. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: GentleX has IPX 7 water-resistance keeping it protected against splashes and moisture. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Diameter: 20 mm x Height: 223 mm, Charging type: Wireless magnetic charging (integrated dock) & Type-C, Vibration speed: 40,000 vibrations/min, Working Voltage: 4.2V ~ 3.2V, Battery life: 40 days (2x/day, 2 min/session) & upto 100 days (with Wall Mount), Battery Specification: Li-ion battery, 10440 model, 550mAh, Waterproof Rating: IPX7, Motor Type: Sonic Motor TAGS: Electric Toothbrush, Oral Care, Wireless Charging Mount, Magnetic Wall Mount, UV-C Sterilisation, Travel-Friendly Design RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The design of GentleX is rooted in extensive research on oral hygiene and user preferences. Ergonomic studies guided the toothbrushâs shape and size for maximum user comfort. Collaborations with dental professionals ensured compliance with oral health standards. Research on UV-C light verified its efficacy in bacterial elimination, and tests on bristle materials optimized gentleness and cleaning efficiency, resulting in a toothbrush that meets both practical and aesthetic needs. CHALLENGE: The biggest challenge in designing GentleX was integrating wireless charging into a slim, ergonomic form while ensuring 100 days battery life and IPX7 waterproofing. Embedding a compact coil system, optimizing power efficiency, and achieving seamless sealing required multiple PCB iterations and precision engineering. Advanced CAD modeling, material selection, and prototyping helped create a minimalist, high-performance design.
