| DESIGN NAME: Beverly Residence PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential House INSPIRATION: This project holds a special place in the hearts of the husband-and-wife designer duo, as it is their home—a meaningful project that reflects their personal vision and design philosophy. Drawing inspiration of everyday life, they transformed this 130 sqm apartment located in Happy Valley, HK into a sanctuary for their growing family, which also symbolizes the evolution of their design journey. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Archways and portals is a strong motif in the apartment, subtly separating different areas. Custom marble fireplace, artfully crafted display shelves, and bespoke chairs bring a refined elegance to the living room. The kitchen features a delightful play of cabinets and countertop. Bedrooms and bathrooms strike a balance between functionality and aesthetic appeal. In the playroom, creativity brings forth a clutter-free haven, where its curated material palette fosters a warm, stylish ambiance. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Upon entering the apartment, one is greeted by a large black wooden architrave. Black archways and portals cleverly separate yet connect different areas smoothly. The living room, dining area, kitchen, bedrooms, and playroom are well organized, catering to daily living and bringing a cozy, diverse experience to the occupants. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Beverly Residence presents a captivating palette of warm textured paint, wooden accents, black wood portals, and touches of Calacatta Viola marble. Each element harmoniously intertwines, creating a visually captivating tapestry that invites all who enter to be embraced by its allure. The addition of sculptural plants throughout the spaces adds drama and verticality. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Area:130㎡ TAGS: Residence, sustainable living, natural materials, designer home, bespoke furnitures, etc.. RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The project is a residence that the designer couple crafted for themselves, reflecting their personal vision and design philosophy. With meticulous attention to detail and a genuine passion for design, they have transformed this space into a sanctuary where style, functionality, and family seamlessly converge. CHALLENGE: The greatest challenge lay in how to meet diverse functional demands within a compact 130-square-meter space, while maintaining the design's distinctiveness and cohesion. It was challenging to ensure each space was both practical and seamlessly integrated into the overall aesthetic, especially in terms of spatial efficiency and stylistic consistency.
