DESIGN NAME: Xie Ben Qian
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Restaurant
INSPIRATION: Before the completion of the project, the brand had already shown its ambition: to become the ceiling of Shanghai's business banquets and create an ultimate wild luxury restaurant environment. So, in the brand new wild luxury realm of this case, the boundary between city and nature is deconstructed and reshaped, breaking free from constraints and turning into infinite creative possibilities. Natural elements such as waterfalls, canyons, and boulders flood into the space.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The most important thing in catering design is to empower both the brand and the restaurant, the significance of design lies in breaking through the ceiling of customers' imagination, surpassing their expectations, and making every customer sincerely admire. The project combines the primitive power of wild nature with avant-garde fashion aesthetics, creating a visual and spatial experience that combines rough texture and exquisite luxury on the natural landscape.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: In order to make the waterfall effect vivid, the designers conducted more than 20 experiments and adjustments. From the form and angle of water flow, to the selection and layout of stones, to the delicate expression of water flow velocity and water splashes, all details are gradually completed through repeated refinement and improvement.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in April 2024 in China and finished in October 2024 in China.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The main materials in this project are stone, metal, wood, glass, art paint, matte acrylic, ceramic tiles, etc. Lighting is also a narrative technique in restaurant spaces. In the lighting design in this case, the designers adjust the strength and position of the light source to create different atmospheres, making it suitable for different scenes such as dining, entertaining guests, singing, and socializing.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The project covers a total of 1200 square meters.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Some projects have achieved success for designers, but not for brands. Good commercial design should be mutually beneficial. In just three months since its opening, the restaurant has continued to dominate the rankings, winning first place on the Shanghai Dianping brand environment list, taste list, and service list. Despite the current downturn in the entire catering market, it has created impressive performance.
CHALLENGE: Only by maximizing cost savings without compromising design quality can achieve a win-win situation between design and business. This requires a detailed budget and evaluation for each implementation plan, ultimately achieving mutual empowerment between the design and brand parties, and implementing the project in a win-win manner. Commercial design must serve both business and operations.
