| DESIGN NAME: Luxorbis PRIMARY FUNCTION: Decorative Accent Lamp INSPIRATION: This design takes inspiration from the delicate balance between nature's organic forms and ancient craftmanship's geometric precision. Encased in a transparent cylindrical glass, three radiating orbs appear to float in suspension, whose stacked formation gives the piece a sense of vertical flow. Like sunlight piercing through a forest canopy and flowing down in ethereal beams, light descends through the suspended orbs and evokes mystery and adventure. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The glowing patterned orbs bring calm while their fine details add mystery. Light and shadow interact within the layers and create a relaxing ambiance inspired by nature's cyclical beauty. Dynamic openings cast shifting patterns, inviting curiosity and exploration. The blend of warm light and careful design creates a peaceful yet captivating atmosphere and draws attention to the calming, rhythmic interplay of illumination. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Luxorbis operates with a concealed on/off button beneath the base to preserve its seamless design. The light glows from within the spherical forms, inviting interaction through the exploration of its shifting shadows and layered illumination. Users are encouraged to approach from various angles, experiencing the calm, ambient glow that gradually reveals hidden patterns within. The soft lighting is ideal for creating a peaceful atmosphere, while the mysterious aura deepens upon closer inspection. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Produced with precision laser cutting techniques, the patterned metal orbs achieve consistency and optimal light diffusion. The glass casing is molded to exacting standards, maintaining clarity while boosting the interplay between light and shadow within the structure. The spheres are precisely fitted within the glass container, ensuring they remain stable and secure even when it is shaken or moved. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 120 mm diameter, 250 mm height TAGS: Lighting, Lamp, Product design, Luxorbis, Design, Accent Lamp, Mood, Product RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The study focused on suspending light sources within the orbs using delicately concealed metallic tubes to create the illusion of floating radiance and ensure precise positioning. Another key area of research was connecting the orbs in a way that enhances continuity, maintaining perfect alignment while preserving the seamless aesthetic of the design. CHALLENGE: Maintaining vertical light flow while ensuring all elements stayed connected was a key challenge, leading to the decision to make the supporting wire delicately visible to enhance continuity. Another challenge was balancing sculptural beauty when off with a warm, inviting glow when on. To enhance luminous harmony, a glowing ring was added at the base.
