DESIGN NAME: Cell Resources
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Office Interiors
INSPIRATION: The office of Cell Resolutions, a regenerative medicine company, was designed with the concept of "Geometric Clear." This concept conveys cleanliness and confidence, while allowing visitors to experience the potential of cellular structures.
The bodies consist of organs made of different types of cells and water. This fundamental structure is expressed through a combination of geometric and clean elements, as well as a water-based color scheme.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The lab office's spatial configuration consists of three areas: an entrance suitable for seminars and external meetings, a highly confidential internal meeting room, and a flexible workspace. The objective is to create a user-friendly lab office for the users of the lab planned in the same building. Inspired by the fluidity of water, various colors have been used on different surfaces, creating spaces that function independently while fostering a sense of unity.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: While a highly confidential meeting room has been established, the entrance and office space have been designed to be open and flexible. The large table in the center of the office is angled to enhance internal communication and has two height settings. The counter table by the office window is designed to facilitate focused work. The geometric ceiling lighting is designed to be divided and adjustable in brightness.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project commenced in December 2023 and was completed in November 2024. The location of the project is within Haneda Innovation City in Tokyo, Japan.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The ceiling lighting is designed with different angles for each fixture, using a profile system to ensure that the joints do not become dark. The walls and furniture also feature a consistent geometric design with sharp corners. Glass, sheer curtains, and painted finishes are utilized to allow light to pass through and reflect, highlighting the sharp lines. The flooring is made with tiles are designed to minimize dust accumulation.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: We initiated the process with in-depth discussions and on-site surveys, focusing on regenerative medicine, as well as broader research across various industries.
Through this process, we identified challenges and explored potential solutions. We then proceeded to examine the angles and colors of walls and lighting, considering factors such as brightness, saturation, and hue.
To translate the identified solutions into design concepts, we conducted behavioral analysis case studies.
CHALLENGE: The issue of long working hours and a sense of stagnation in the laboratory work were addressed by creating an attached office that serves as a liberating space. This lab office is highly variable, allowing for easy switching on and off and selection of the desired use scene, such as concentration, meeting, or visitors. The office's design fosters a sense of trust and sophistication, aligning with the company's image.
