PRIMARY FUNCTION: Promotion
INSPIRATION: This design is inspired by Tencent's recruitment slogan, "Join Tencent. impact the world." The figure represents "you", while the central sphere symbolizes 'the world.' The ripples signify the expanding influence and broadened horizons of individuals in the digital age, illustrating how one’s impact can extend globally with Tencent’s support. This proposal combines futuristic aesthetics, gamification elements, and dynamic design to create a highly engaging and memorable brand experience.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This project aims to create a futuristic and vibrant visual identity for Tencent's 2021 intern recruitment campaign. By utilizing 3D elements, dynamic layouts, and bold color combinations, it showcases Tencent's innovative spirit and tech-leading brand image, thereby attracting young job seekers' trust and affinity for Tencent. The integration of digital assets ensures consistency across platforms, enhancing engagement on social media and recruitment portals.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This design attracts job seekers with engaging dynamic visuals and an intuitive layout, ensuring a smooth user experience through technical support. The thoughtful visual design makes the Tencent recruitment process and key points clear and easy to understand, guiding users to effortlessly comprehend and engage in the entire recruitment process.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in March 2021 and was completed in June 2021. It was implemented in China as part of Tencent's global hiring initiatives.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: In the initial phase, Photoshop and Illustrator were used to create concept sketches and demo designs. During the development of the main visual, Photoshop and Illustrator were employed for texture design, while Cinema 4D was utilized to construct 3D elements and scenes. For the animated version of the main visual, Cinema 4D was used for motion creation, followed by After Effects for editing and visual effects enhancement, ensuring a seamless and dynamic presentation.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: This design is optimized for multi-platform compatibility, supporting different screen resolutions, including WeChat articles, social media, official websites, and large-format printed materials or posters of various sizes needed for offline promotions.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: We collected recruitment visual designs from 10 renowned internet companies from 2018 to 2020 to analyze their design strategies, considering current employer brand trends. We found that while company strength and fit are primary considerations for job seekers, the attractiveness of recruitment content significantly influences their choices. Good recruitment materials can affect candidates' perceptions of a company's image, including brand strength and recruitment focus.
Our insights show that young job seekers, including surveyed university students and recent graduates, pay attention to the visual design of recruitment materials, preferring innovative dynamic and 3D visuals. After discussions with the client, we decided on a design style focusing on 3D visuals and interactive dynamic design, reaching out to over 100,000 users.
CHALLENGE: Challenge 1: We needed a fresh approach for the main visual that reflects Tencent’s professional employer brand and resonates with a youthful narrative aligned with the slogan 'Join Tencent to impact the world.'
Challenge 2: The main visual had to extend across eight Tencent business groups and two departments within a tight timeline, requiring adaptability. We preserved the scene and composition, using color, graphic elements, and copy to ensure versatility, aligning with the different departments' brand colors and abstractly expressing their business content with enhanced 3D textured titles.
Challenge 3: We used a two-part animation for an engaging interactive experience, addressing challenges with GIF compression and SVG logic. The ripple effect captures attention while loading resources, and perspective shifts create surprise, immersing users quickly in dynamic content.
