| DESIGN NAME: New York 60 Multispace PRIMARY FUNCTION: Kitchen Sink INSPIRATION: The idea for the New York 60 Multispace sink was born from a common consumer challenge—limited kitchen space and underutilized areas. Standard sinks often overlook the potential of the faucet bench, leaving it inefficient. Our Design Team saw an opportunity to create a functional, ergonomic zone with smart storage and efficient drainage. Through research and prototyping, we developed the Multispace system, maximizing every inch for a space-saving solution in modern kitchens. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The New York 60 Multispace sink transforms the unused faucet bench into an organized workspace. The Multispace system features dual zones: one for water-draining organizers and another for dishwashing essentials, with a dedicated cutting board drying area. The vertical overflow system ensures efficient drainage. With slim, sloping edges and a beveled rim, it offers a sleek design and easy maintenance, optimizing space and ergonomics. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The New York 60 Multispace sink transforms everyday kitchen tasks by maximizing space and organization. It features two smart zones: one for drying utensils and herbs, the other for dishwashing essentials. A dedicated cutting board drying area keeps surfaces clear. The integrated drainage system prevents water buildup, ensuring a cleaner workspace. Thoughtfully designed, it enhances efficiency, keeps everything within reach, and makes kitchen routines smoother and more organized. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The idea for designing this sink emerged at the beginning of 2024 when we started market analysis and survey research to assess interest in such a solution. After receiving positive feedback, our design team began working on the concept and functionality. Following several months of intensive design and prototyping, we finalized the model, which was officially launched for sale on November 6, 2024. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The New York 60 Multispace sink is crafted from high-quality composite granite, ensuring durability, scratch resistance, and heat resistance. The precision molding process allows for intricate design details, including the integrated Multispace system. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Dimensions of sink: 580mm x 530mm x 200mm TAGS: multifunctional sink, granite sink, workstation sink, kitchen sink RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Inspired by the challenge of limited kitchen space, we conducted research and design work to create a functional and organized sink. Through surveys and interviews with users, we assessed their needs and expectations. We tested prototypes in real kitchens, refining the design based on feedback. The result is the Multispace system, which optimizes daily workflow, improves ergonomics, and enhances modern kitchen design. CHALLENGE: The biggest challenge was developing a solution that maximized the use of every available millimeter of space for the cup holder while ensuring the largest possible cup capacity. We also aimed to achieve a precise fit between the cups and the sink, so that the top surface of the cups would be perfectly flush with the edges of the sink.
