DESIGN NAME: Zoom
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Exhibition Catalogue
INSPIRATION: Red is a dominant color in the Hungarian folk art, which also identifies the exhibition's design, similarly with the recurring square shape elements. This is why the book’s design wanted to resemble to an exciting red square. Opening the cover it reveals a stylised decoration on the spine which are the visual reinterpretation of the embroidered motifs typical to the Hungarian folk art. One of the features of the book is these patterns have been uniquely generated for each of the thousand copies.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Both the exhibition and the book take an unconventional approach, offering a unique perspective on the museum’s collection. The content and visual structure are shaped by shifts in viewpoint, presenting objects and object masses from new angles through exciting and playful solutions. This approach of unrepeatability is reflected in the book’s inner spine, which features a uniquely generated pattern for each copy.
The exhibition designed by art1st Design Studio, lead designer Daniel Taraczky.
