PRIMARY FUNCTION: Lounge Chair
INSPIRATION: This chair is inspired by a bold exploration of materials and forms, challenging conventional upholstery in home furniture. Drawing from the futuristic and avant-garde aesthetics seen in A Clockwork Orange and 2001: A Space Odyssey, the design embraces clean lines, transparency, and an almost cinematic presence. Extensive research focused on the structural potential of armored glass, leading to its innovative application in a lounge chair. The result is a timeless piece, detached from fleeting trends.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This lounge chair redefines material applications by integrating armored glass—a material traditionally used in security industries—into furniture design. Featuring a comfortable seat with back support, it is framed by two transparent armored glass sides that serve as armrests, providing both strength and elegance. Mounted on a rotating base, the chair merges durability with fluid motion. This innovative use of industrial-grade glass in domestic furniture creates a striking and timeless design.
