| DESIGN NAME: Roman Artistry 6 PRIMARY FUNCTION: Piece Set INSPIRATION: Inspired by the classic Roman columns of ancient architecture and the elegance of Renaissance sculptures, this knife set features a smooth, fluid silhouette that balances strength and beauty. The creamy white base color symbolizes purity and refinement, complemented by brown accents that add luxury and visual depth. This creates a sense of fullness and dimension in the entire design. The knife handles and the block follow the golden ratio, further enhancing the overall artistic appeal. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This kitchen knife set represents a blend of classical aesthetics and modern design concepts, showcasing artistic beauty while offering outstanding practicality. It features an innovative 360 degree rotating knife block, superior material quality, and a multifunctional configuration for user friendliness. These elements perfectly meet the high standards of modern families for kitchen tools, providing a more efficient way to handle various ingredients. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The knife handles are ergonomically designed to fit comfortably in the hand, reducing fatigue during extended use. Balanced weight distribution ensures precise, smooth control, making food preparation easier and more efficient. The knife block features a 360 degree rotating design for easy access to knives. The slots are thoughtfully laid out for neat organization, eliminating hassles of cluttered countertops for more efficient operation and a tidy kitchen space. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project was designed and developed in Hangzhou in November 2024 and will be launched in China in March 2025 |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The 50Cr15MoV steel provides the knives with exceptional hardness and wear resistance, thanks to its high carbon content. They also boast excellent toughness and corrosion resistance, maintaining sharpness and durability even with prolonged use. The knife block uses PP material that resists heat and has high hardness, along with ABS plastic known for superior overall performance. This material combination ensures stability and lasting durability of the knife set. CHALLENGE: The challenge was to create a knife set practical enough to meet modern kitchen demands. To this end, the knife block features a 360 degree rotating design. The builtin gears and metal plates offer a smooth damping during rotation, with subtle sound feedback for intuitive, effortless knife retrieval and placement. The knife block can be disassembled for thorough cleaning, and it integrates multiple functions like a knife sharpener into a compact form, improving space utilization and convenience.
