Mars 5 Ultra positions itself as the premier resin 3D printer for home users. Its tilt-release technology accelerates print speeds by 48% over comparable models, while the section-based exposure tests optimal resin curing time, improving print quality and reducing resin waste. With auto-leveling, self-checks, and integrated features like an AI camera, time-lapse recording, and power-loss recovery, it blends sophisticated technology with a user-friendly design, catering to beginners and experts.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
The Mars 5 Ultra's design prioritizes effortless use for 3D printing beginners. Its integrated design requires no assembly, with automatic leveling and self-checking simplifying setup. An AI camera allows real-time monitoring, while time-lapse recording captures the printing process. Features like power-loss recovery and temperature monitoring with high heat alerts ensure reliable operation and extend longevity. The Mars 5 Ultra offers a streamlined, hassle-free printing experience from start to finish.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The project began development in 2023 and took eight months to complete. It was officially launched worldwide in June 2024.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
Crafted with precision, Mars 5 Ultra showcases meticulous material selection and engineering. The base and side panels are made from metal, shaped through sheet metal stamping, and finished with electrostatic coating for a refined, durable surface. The central panel utilizes die-casting with a protective spray finish, balancing aesthetics and resilience. Structural components, formed through high-precision extrusion, ensure seamless integration and robust performance, elevating form and function.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
This project merges UX, CMF, and precision manufacturing to elevate the aesthetics and functionality of consumer 3D printers. The aim was to develop a high-precision resin printer with 9K resolution and 3x faster tilt-release technology. Through competitor analysis and user feedback, we refined the design, incorporating a 7-inch 9K screen, AI camera, and mechanical sensors for 20-micrometer precision and auto-leveling. The Mars 5 Ultra sets a new benchmark, driving innovation in education and design with cost-effective solutions.

CHALLENGE:
The key challenge was meeting the stringent functional design requirements, particularly for auto-leveling, which demands precise material dimensions and minimal errors. To address this, engineers conducted multiple testing rounds to fine-tune the solution. In the CMF phase, the focus shifted to creating distinct color options to stand out in a crowded market. Throughout mass production, factors like material defects and supplier issues required quick adjustments to ensure smooth production.
