DESIGN NAME: Vxt Plus
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Mobile App
INSPIRATION: Vxt Plus was inspired by TurboVax, a tool created by NYC-based developer Huge Ma in 2021 to simplify Covid vaccine scheduling by aggregating resources into one platform. Though TurboVax ended in mid-2021, its impact revealed the ongoing need for accessible vaccine management. Motivated by this, Vxt Plus enhances the concept by combining vaccine reservations, record storage, and scheduling into an intuitive app.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Vxt Plus is an innovative mobile app that integrates vaccine reservations, record storage, and schedule management into a single platform. Its intuitive design enhances usability, offering seamless navigation and personalized notifications to ensure users never miss important updates. By unifying essential vaccine-related services, Vxt Plus stands out for its efficiency, user-centric approach, and ability to simplify health management through thoughtful design and functionality.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Vxt Plus functions as a seamless digital health companion, simplifying vaccine management through an intuitive and user-friendly interface. From booking appointments to storing records and tracking schedules, users are guided effortlessly through each step with clear navigation and personalized notifications. RESEARCH ABSTRACT: My research for Vxt Plus was inspired by the impact of TurboVax, a project by NYC-based developer Huge Ma, which made vaccine appointment booking more accessible during a critical time. After analyzing the challenges users faced post-TurboVax, I explored gaps in vaccine accessibility, record management, and scheduling. Through user interviews, competitor analysis, and behavioral research, I identified the need for an all-in-one solution. These insights shaped Vxt Plus into a seamless, intuitive, and user-centered healthcare experience.
CHALLENGE: One of the biggest challenges of Vxt Plus was designing a platform that seamlessly integrated vaccine booking, record management, and scheduling while maintaining a user-friendly experience. Healthcare apps often overwhelm users with complex interfaces, so simplifying navigation without sacrificing essential features was a key focus. Ensuring accessibility, trust, and clarity in handling sensitive health information also required thoughtful design decisions and extensive user testing.
