| DESIGN NAME: Art and Numeracy Academy PRIMARY FUNCTION: Math Institute INSPIRATION: The spatial design of Art and Numeracy Academy also adheres to principles of openness, comfort, and aesthetics. The layout integrates squares, triangles, and circles, and employs L-System-inspired tree branches to create smooth, curved spaces. Bright and elegant tones, combined with warm, light wood textures, establish a modern yet cozy learning environment. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Art and Numeracy Academy upholds the mission of "Unlocking Key Learning Through Play," continuing the spirit of Numeracy Lab to make mathematics "practical, accessible, and enjoyable." We are dedicated to cultivating children's numerical reasoning, creative aesthetics, and emotional resilience through foundational and cross-disciplinary STEAM courses during after-school hours. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The multifunctional area under the large tree serves as an ideal space for reading, discussions, and various activities, fostering interaction and collaborative learning between children and adults. All interior decor uses environmentally friendly green building materials and sound-absorbing wood wool panels, complemented by advanced digital equipment, ensuring a child-friendly learning environment. Additionally, facilities like sinks and restrooms are thoughtfully designed at child-friendly heights, enabling younger children to use them independently. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The design started in October 2023 in Taipei City. The construction period was January to February 2024, and completed in March 2024. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The design is constructed with on site carpentry and prefabricated furniture in the factory. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The total area of planning is around 200 square meter TAGS: Classroom, Math Learning, Interior Design, Taipei City, MisoSoupDesign RESEARCH ABSTRACT: A large display window serves as a platform for teachers and students to showcase their mathematical projects, presenting fresh and innovative learning outcomes throughout the seasons. CHALLENGE: Art and Numeracy Academy is not just a classroom for inspiring numerical reasoning; it is a creative and aesthetic learning space where every child can discover the joy of learning, fully develop their potential, and shine with confidence in the world of mathematics.
