| DESIGN NAME: Focus PRIMARY FUNCTION: Modular Shower Brush INSPIRATION: Focus was inspired by the experience of bathing. While the long handle brush can reach the back or ankle in the shower, it is not convenient to clean the elbow or neck, and we have to prepare a shorter one. In addition, different seasons can make the skin condition change, people should take appropriate care. The existing body wash can not meet this variety of needs, because the volume is large, it takes a long time to be used up. Therefore, we wanted to design a modular personal care tool that can quickly change components for different situations. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Focus is a modular personal care tool that can be quickly removed and replaced. The part it holds is equipped with body wash, and users can choose the handle that suits them according to different skin conditions or personal preferences. Four different functional components to cope with bathing needs. In addition, users can assemble them into long handle brushes or use them alone to ensure that different body parts can be comfortably cleaned. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: According to different parts of the body, People plug holding part of the hand into the Focus or pull it out to complete the brush length change. When the season affects the condition of the skin or you just want to try a new scent, all you need to do is change the handle with a different shower gel. When taking a bath, the user squeezes it to get its internal body wash or shampoo. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project was launched in Beijing in April 2024 and completed in Beijing in June 2024. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The whole body of the shower brush is made of recycled plastic, and the bristles are made of silicone and sponge. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Width 90mm x Depth 70mm x Height 300mm TAGS: Quick change, body wash, shower brush, modular RESEARCH ABSTRACT: We carried out a detailed analysis and found that the existing shower brush could not meet all the cleaning needs of users during bathing. In addition, we conducted an interview and learned that women like to try different scented body wash, and found that our skin needs corresponding care in different seasons. In order to obtain the body wash, we disassembled the vacuum dispensing bottle. After studying its structure, the principle was adjusted and realized by 3d printing. CHALLENGE: Neither the long handle nor the handleless one can meet the cleaning needs of the bath. Therefore, the biggest challenge of Focus is modular design and how to convert the two forms of care tools quickly and at the same time can be combined with body wash. So we studied the structure of the vacuum bottle and transformed the holding part into a detachable container. In addition, the design of the shape is also difficult. Both to meet the overall integrity of the combination, but also to consider the beauty of each monomer after disassembly.
