PRIMARY FUNCTION: Baijiu Packaging
INSPIRATION: The ideas brought by the classical architecture and furniture styles of ancient China were eventually incorporated into the design. Strong local culture can be seen in the design presentation, such as the miniature Taihang Mountain on the bottle cap. By participating in this project, more people can understand Chinese style and culture and enhance cultural value.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Shanxi is one of the most important cradles of baijiu culture in China. The design project "Lu Wine" is from Shanxi Province. Lujiu has a long history, originated in the Ming Dynasty, has a long history and culture of more than 500 years.
The design is inspired by Shanxi classical architecture and Ming Dynasty furniture screen; In the overall design to create a classical beauty.
On the left side of the box is a poster dating back to the Ming Dynasty, which may be the earliest "poster" in the history of baijiu, indicating the location of the distillery and the quality of the product;
On the right side of the box is the Chinese brand character "HONGJI". The design team came up with a more retro version of the seal character font, embodied in the Shanxian-style "window cut" form. The shape inside the bottle is faintly visible, reflecting the beauty of classical China; Reflect the deep historical experience of the product.
In the bottle design, the design inspiration comes from the blue and white porcelain used by the Ming court. The bottle cap is shaped like a mountain peak, the design is inspired by the Taihang Mountains in Shanxi Province, hoping to bring consumers the natural beauty of mountains and rivers. At the same time, the historical and cultural heritage of the winery was incorporated into the design.
This design exudes an antique charm, cultural atmosphere and classical aesthetics are intertwined, providing consumers with both taste and visual enjoyment.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This is a high-end liquor packaging design, made of wooden boxes and ceramic processes. Through the design, people can feel the unique beauty brought by the historical and cultural heritage of China, an ancient Oriental country. Environmental protection: After purchasing, consumers can pour other wine through the mouth of the bottle to achieve reuse; I believe consumers will also like this design, even after use, can also be used as a small locker, display appreciation.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in May 2023 in China/Sichuan/Chengdu and was completed in Chengdu in August 2024. It has not yet been exhibited.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Considering environmental protection, the product will ultimately be produced using two different processes. 1. Box: Made of recyclable cardboard and wood grain paper, this solution will become the main process for mass production and sales. 2. Box: Made of solid wood carving, due to the good texture of solid wood but not environmentally friendly, the production quantity will not be large. Mainly used as a reward to reward those who have made contributions to this product. (such as sales, promotion, publicity, etc.)
3. The metal plates on the front of the boxes and bottles are printed and made with zinc alloy technology and dropper technology for text and graphic information.
Bottle shaped process: using ceramic design, the specific process is to open the mold and inject mud; Made by high-temperature firing.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: In the design process, the designer has studied the regional culture of the brand. In Shanxi, the birthplace of the brand, Taihang Mountain is one of the most famous mountains in China, and the design will design Taihang Mountain on the bottle cap to reflect the regional characteristics. The overall design combines traditional classical symmetry aesthetics, and the entire product has a heavy visual sense.
CHALLENGE: There are so many different cultures in the design process that it is difficult for designers to choose. China has a lot of cultural characteristics and designers want to create a unique design. How to solve this problem? After communicating with the customer, I went to the customer's location to understand the regional culture, and finally designed around the traditional Chinese furniture architecture to solve the selection problem. Make the design very Oriental aesthetic.
