| DESIGN NAME: Xichang Joyhub Air PRIMARY FUNCTION: Hotel INSPIRATION: The design of the Xichang Joyhub Air Hotel balances the preservation of the city’s cultural heritage, the inheritance of Bashu architectural style, the protection of the local ecosystem, and the creation of a modern hotel. By incorporating a deep respect for local culture, the hotel offers guests a seamless experience of nature and leisure, emphasizing environmental sustainability and a commitment to high-quality living. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Xichang Joyhub Air Hotel is located in the picturesque Qionglu Scenic Area of Xichang. Designed as a high-end, garden-style resort, it offers a seamless blend of accommodation, dining, conference facilities, and wellness services. The project employs a strategy that combines holistic planning with meticulous detail, ensuring smooth collaboration among cross-disciplinary teams. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Key materials such as artistic paint, wood-printed aluminum panels, stone, and wood finishes create a tranquil atmosphere, giving the hotel a unique character. The open courtyard, with tranquil stones and whispering plants, creates a Zen-like atmosphere. Structures inspired by bamboo weaving complement geometric forms, ensuring privacy for the living spaces. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Xichang Joyhub Air Hotel completed design on July 23, 2024, in Sichuan China |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The architectural design of the Xichang Joyhub Air Hotel blends traditional Western Sichuan residential styles with modern techniques, preserving local charm while innovating the hotel complex. The landscape design of Xichang Joyhub Air Hotel blends natural ecology, diverse elements, and a harmonious atmosphere, creating a relaxing resort vibe. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Xichang Joyhub Air Hotel covers an area of approximately 22,000 square meters. TAGS: Loacal, ZEN Style, Naturally Harmonious, Elegant Hotel RESEARCH ABSTRACT: At night, the lighting design outlines the building with horizontal lines and subtle point lights, ensuring harmony with the natural environment. This minimalist approach enhances the architecture and landscape, fosters a serene and relaxes atmosphere throughout the courtyard. CHALLENGE: o address local wetland conservation challenges and support sustainable design, the Environmental Institute team at Xichang Joyhub Air Hotel leveraged the natural aesthetic of existing trees to create a harmonious landscape that respects the local plant community. By considering regional characteristics and climate, the team used plant diversity and layered design to create a distinctive local landscape.
