INSPIRATION: As global research on deep-sea resources, ecology, and environment continues to deepen, existing submersibles are insufficient in depth, flexibility, and versatility. This submarine is inspired by the streamlined appearance of killer whales and their rational biological structure. New submersibles with high performance, intelligence and multi-function can adapt to various extreme underwater environments and realize comprehensive exploration and scientific research of the deep sea.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This is a new type of submersible with high performance, modularity, intelligence and multi-function. It can adapt to various extreme underwater environments and assist mankind in comprehensive exploration and scientific research of deep sea resources, ecosystems and unknown areas.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The Pioneer research submarine is designed to improve the efficiency and safety of undersea research missions. The advanced survival support system ensures the safety and comfort of the crew during long-term submersibles. Equipped with an unmanned pilot, long-distance wireless remote control, and complex operation assistance, it improves work efficiency while ensuring safety. With a modular design, the unmanned pilot can be equipped with different operating modules and thrusters according to different conditions and scenarios to better assist operations.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project starts at Qingdao University of Technology in August 2023 and ends at Qingdao University of Technology in November 2024.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The material is made of high-strength composite materials, and the application of carbon fiber and titanium alloy improves the pressure resistance and lightweight performance of the submersible. The appearance adopts the streamlined design of a killer whale to better adapt to the special environment of the seabed.
