DESIGN NAME: Daydreamer
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Rug
INSPIRATION: Hayalperest” is a journey into the reverie of home, a space where day and night coexist, each representing cherished memories and the warmth of shared moments. Inspired by the concept of daydreams, “Hayalperest” invites one to envision a landscape that merges the earthly with the celestial. Sun, moon, and star motifs float harmoniously within geometric shapes, creating a visual story that evokes both modernity and nostalgia. This design is not just a rug; it is a tapestry of emotions.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This design differs from other rugs due to its production techniques. The design is produced by combining four special hand weaving techniques. Among the weaving techniques, there is also the geographically indicated Karacakilavuz Weaving Technique. That's why you see a one of a kind production technique. Three craftswomen worked on this unique production.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The product is designed as a floor rug. It is produced in Buruz's workshop in approximately two months, using completely sustainable materials. The sale and promotion of the product is made on Buruz's website or other sales points. Since it is a custom-made product, it can only be produced as a limited edition. Due to its production feature, it is not a mass production product. Production can be made upon order.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Karacakilavuz Weaving Technique, which is the core technique of weaving the product, belongs to the Tekirdag province of Turkey. It is only allowed to be produced only in Tekirdag. For this reason, the production of the rug was made in Buruz's own workshop in Tekirdag province of Turkey. Buruz's workshop is the first production workshop opened in Turkey, providing sustainable women employment for Karacakilavuz Weaving. The production period takes approximately two month (the stage of dyeing the ropes with plants is not taken into account).

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The production was made by combining four different techniques. These are: Anatolian Knot Technique, Cicim Weaving Technique, Twill Weaving Technique and Shuttle Traditional Towel Weaving Technique. The looms on which the weaving is applied are traditional looms made of oak with four pedals and four texsolv heddles.
Three weaving pieces are produced separately and hand-embroidered using the crochet stitches. Back side cleaning process is done with a crochet hook and scissors. Three wings are joined together asymmetrically with a knitted wool chain. A lining fabric containing cotton is added to prevent the back of the fabric from being exposed. Finally, each rug fringe at the end of the rug is hand-attached to finish the product.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Width 240 cm x Depth 280 cm x Height 1 cm. Since the product is hand-made, these dimensions may change each time production is made. It is also possible to produce in different sizes. Package size is 80cmx40cmx60cm.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Eda Zamanpur made her own digital design drawing on the photo of a rug designed by Begum Karadag on a previously produced design. The entire design was redrawn digitally. Then, all patterns were coded and processed on checkered papers. Then, we evaluated which technique would express itself brightly for a few weeks. The line starting from one piece of weaving had to continue uninterruptedly on the other piece of weaving. Therefore, making the three separate pieces of weaving look like a whole required the most precise work.
CHALLENGE: This design is not just a rug; it is a tapestry of emotions, reminding us of the balance between light and shadow, joy and solitude. “Hayalperest” symbolizes a world where dreams intersect with reality, where each color and shape guides us toward positive reflections and tranquil memories. Embrace this piece as an emblem of the beauty in daily transitions, a reminder to find solace and inspiration in the simplicity of everyday life.
