| DESIGN NAME: Island PRIMARY FUNCTION: Pet House INSPIRATION: "Barkitecture&q UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Island Dog House began with the hope of giving pet dogs more humanistic care. It provides close companionship for owners and pets, and the "cage-free" OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Island Pet House can meet the needs of both pets and owners. For pets, Island Pet House can be placed in the bedroom to provide a "private" leisure place closer to the owner. The front door can be kept open or closed as needed to allow sufficient ventilation and light to enter, making pets happy. For owners, Island Pet House can be used as a low cabinet and equipped with built-in sockets, providing storage and charging functions. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in Zhengzhou in January 2024 and was completed in Zhengzhou in September 2024. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The Island dog house is made of plywood, and the door panel is made of acrylic and metal. It can be assembled in about 20 minutes with a hexagonal wrench and screwdriver. Studies have shown that designing furniture suitable for pet activities and rest can reduce the degree of separation anxiety in pets. For example, providing a comfortable pet house, and considering the placement of the pet house in the furniture layout, the owner can accompany the pet up close, which is also an important factor in reducing separation anxiety, thereby promoting a closer and healthier relationship between pets and owners. CHALLENGE: The biggest challenge in the implementation and research process is to maintain a balance between home design style and pet room. How to integrate with modern home style while meeting the needs of pets, so that the pet house looks like a home decoration rather than an abrupt piece of furniture. While considering the integration with modern home style, it is also necessary to ensure that the pet house meets the needs of pets, such as providing sufficient space and safety, as well as considering the pet's body size and behavior habits. Let both pets and owners enjoy a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing space.
